Known as the busiest shopping day of the year, Black Friday provides a wide range of emotions and sensations. If you love shopping, this is the day for you. The day has been dubbed as the unofficial beginning of the Christmas season. The popularity of the day can be attributed to a number of factors. The day before, many people have gorged themselves on Thanksgiving dinner and there is this sense by many that it would be a good thing if they got out and walked. Also, many employers give their employees the day after Thanksgiving off. This, coupled with the desire of retailers to reach as many people as possible with liberal hours and fantastic door busting sales creates a perfect storm. Some retailers, in recent years, have extended their hours even further by opening on Thanksgiving eve.
